Information on the procedure of issuing certificates of equivalence of oral (type A) and written (type B) language exams to complex (type C) examinations
The Government Decree No. 137/2008 (V. 16.) contains the detailed regulations of equivalence, consequently neither an application for nor issue of certificates is required.
The institutions using language certificates (secondary schools, colleges/universities, employers etc.) applying the rule of law accept the separately presented oral (type A) and written (type B) certificates as equivalent to complex (type C) certificates.
Upon specifically justified requests OH-NYAK delivers a certificate as to the rules of procedure below.
To start a procedure the following documents are to be presented together:
- A copy of both the oral (type A) and written (type B) certificates
- The administration fee can be paid by cheque or can be transferred to account No. 10032000-00282637 with the notice ”NYAK – honosítás”. In either of the cases the voucher is to be presented.
How to obtain the documents?
- Cheques, “Kérelem” forms and information leaflets can be obtained at OH-NYAK personally (Office hours), or by post.
How to present the documents?
- Personally at the above address and time
- By post to the address of OH-NYAK.
Administration fee
Ft 3.000 to be paid to OH-NYAK exclusively by a cheque provided by NYAK for this specific purpose.
Procedure
The procedure lasts for 30 days at maximum. The certificates are posted by NYAK.
No modification to submitted applications or requests for the refund of administration fee are possible.
Legal regulation of the procedure
Upon Government Decree No. 137/2008 (V. 16.) Part-examinations of the same language can be combined. Technical purposes part-exams can only be combined if they are of the same technical purposes.
After the combination of part-exams the existence of an equivalent certificate is certified by OH-NYAK on request.

1 = monolingual, 2 = bilingual
Part-exams of different levels combine a complex (type C) as to the part-exam certificate of the lower level.
elementary level oral (or written) + intermediate level written (or oral) = elementary level complex
intermediate level oral (or written) + advanced level written (or oral) = intermediate level complex
This refers to the combination of both general and technical purposes cerificates.
