Bilingualising additional exam
A monolingual exam is a type of testing language competence which does not contain translations, the testing of mediation skill. An examination which also tests the skill of mediation/translation is called bilingual.
Some examinees with monolingual certified exams may realise later that they need a bilingual certificate. Some others chose the monolingual nationalisation of their certificate attained abroad probably because they could get it without taking an additional exam.
Both examinees and holders of nationalised certificates might realise later that they need a bilingual certificate. „Bilingualisation” serves their needs.
Bilingualisation in fact is an additional exam serving to add the missing module of translation or mediation. After taking the additional exam the holder of a monolingual, general purposes type C (complex) certificate receives a certificate from OH-NYAK stating the fact that from the date of the nationalisation of the monolingual exam it is equal to the nationalisation resolution of a bilingual, general purposes type C (complex) certificate.
Remember, part-exam certificates – only oral (A) or only written (B) – cannot be nationalised by an additional exam.
OH-NYAK conducts the nationalisation procedure free of charges. The fee for an additional exam must be paid to the language centre. OH-NYAK forwards the application to the language centre and also informs the applicant about it within 15 days from presenting it. All other information about the exam and feepaying is provided by the language centre.
